Administrative Assistant and Patient Coordinator
Maureen is a native of Connecticut and has been married to her husband, Ray, for 24 years. Dr. Pfeifer has known Maureen for over 10 years, and feels very fortunate to have been able to bring her aboard in 2007. Maureen has worked in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery for 12 years, and her extensive knowledge in all areas of plastic surgery and non-surgical rejuvenation techniques makes her a great source of information for all our patients. Dr. Pfeifer relies on Maureen for the smooth day-to-day operation of her practice. We couldn’t do it without her!
Maureen is known for her optimistic and caring attitude toward everyone, patients and family members alike. She is in contact with our patients both pre-and post-operatively. Outside of work, Maureen enjoys reading, running and gardening, and her love of decorating has led to a fulfilling hobby of staging homes to optimize them for sale. She is training her dog, Gunnar, to be a therapy dog. In the near future they will be volunteering at a local nursing home, bringing love and comfort to seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease and terminal illnesses.
Insurance consultant and patient advocate
Ms. Judy Polhemus has worked in the field for over 17 years, including several years at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s physician billing department. As such, she has extensive experience in medical insurance matters. Judy works with our patients to help them maximize their insurance benefits. It gives her great pleasure to successfully negotiate the insurance maze. She is in close contact with all our patients who are having procedures such as breast reduction, removal of ruptured silicone implants, and breast reconstruction. Judy is able to obtain coverage for patients who wish to go out of network, has successfully reversed denials of coverage, has obtained refunds for patients and negotiated terms favorable to our patients on many occasions.
Our patients appreciate Judy’s warm compassion and willingness to intervene on their behalf with the insurance companies. Judy lives is Westchester with Bob, her husband of 15 years. She is an extremely generous person, inviting her elderly neighbors without families for holidays in her home. She also is a “personal assistant” to her elderly friends who need a helping hand. Judy is an art lover who travels internationally to enjoy her hobby and is working on taking less luggage on her next trip. Her busy schedule includes daily workouts at the gym and crocheting each night for her grandchildren.
